The visit was proposed by Ian and organised by Neil; it was all the more interesting as the club are supporting Essex & Herts Air Ambulnace Trust on our Charity Golf Day on 7th June.
We were told the maximum group number was 15, so demand meant we had to go in 2 groups.
Barry Turner arranged for the first group of 9 to lunch at Cucina restaurant in High Ongar before their visit. Unfortunately the helipicopter was on a shout during their visit, so they were shown the emergency car and the facility. Everyone really enjoyed the visit.
The second group met for lunch at The King's Head, North Weald before the visit, being joined by Wendy at the Air Base. The EHAAT helicopter was being serviced, hence photos of the reserve copter. It did take off and gave Michele a good 'Blow-Dry'.
It turned out they were not required, so it returned and we had detailed explanation of the helicopter and the emergency car.
The volunteers were very friendly and helpful - as were the Duty Doctor and the paramedic on standby.
A really interesting visit - and worthy of our support on 7th June.
