Watford and St Alban’s Rotary Clubs combine to help the Peace Hospice buy much needed medical equipment due to the corona virus.

The Rotary Club of Watford and the Rotary Club of St Alban’s combined forces to help the Watford Peace Hospice buy much needed medical equipment as a result of the demands of the corona virus.

President of the Watford Rotary Club Richard Goates stated “The two clubs, together with a District Foundation Grant, managed to raise just under £4,700 for the hospice which will enable them to buy aprons, gloves, masks, ear thermometers, stethoscopes and glucometers. The Peace Hospice has always been high in the list of charities that we support, they do amazing work and in fact the chairman of the board of trustees, who oversaw the construction of the Hospice and was indeed the first doctor to practice there, was none other than Robin Gain, a member of the Watford Rotary Club and still an active member at a sprightly 87 years old”.

The cheque presentation was held at the Hospice with members of the Watford and St Albans Clubs, Rotary District Councillor Vijay Patel, Watford Councillor Rabi Martins and members of the Hospice team.
