Round up the usual suspects

“Round up the usual suspects”

The famous 1942 quote from Casablanca could well have applied to Llandudno Rotary recently

Their 92nd Birthday Bash (sometimes referred to in more gentile circles as a Charter Night) at Conwy Golf Club on Friday 29th March certainly proved to be a magnet for all “the usual suspects” who would never, ever miss an excuse to  party

That said, about 20 of the total of 49 guests were attending for the first time, but no doubt not for the last. Regulars and ‘newbies’ alike enjoyed all of the highlights of the evening, namely

-       3-course dinner

-      Presentation of a Community Service Award to Brenda Fogg for her work with Hope Restored charity for the homeless

-       Presentation of a Paul Harris Fellowship to Rotarian Chris Drew for services to Rotary

-       A toast for the work of the Club from Cllr. David Hawkins, Mayor of Llandudno

-       Entertainment from the 50-strong  “Sing with us” Tenovus choir

Not a bad night out for a 92-year old! Our thanks to all who made it possible, especially to Rotarian Alan Guinn who organised the whole event with his usual seemingly effortless aplomb (how does he do that?)
