Its a Surprize - 18/03/19

On Monday, President Andy Slater gave a cheque for £600 from Seagate Rotary to Dick McLachlan of Irvine and Troon Cancer Care.  This was part of the money raised by the Christmas trees at the Portal in  December.  For an evening of light relief, Sandy Niven entertained the members with a frustratingly simple but obscure quiz, concurrently with a knockout dominoes competition.  David Cousar won the dominoes, and the pairing of Hugh Hutchison and Pamela Lodge won the quiz. 

It was then revealed that many of the members had done the identical quiz a number of years ago, (2006 to be precise), but their memories are not what they used to be, if they ever were, so it had not affected the result. 

This Friday, 22 March, at 1.30pm, 8 schools will be taking part in the local heat of the Rotary Primary Schools Quiz in the Fullerton Hub.  The winners will go forward to the District finals in Glasgow next month.
