Sighthill Megalith Update

At the invitation of Prestwick Rotarian Richie Cameron, Duncan Lunan and his wife Linda revisited Prestwick Rotary Club. Duncan presented an update on the new location of the stone circle previously erected in Sighthill Park, Glasgow.

The new circle or megalith is some 700 metres to the east, using the previous stones re-sited, and re-orientated by Duncan for the new site. A lot of work still needs to be done before the new site is open to the public next summer. This project is part of the largest Transformational Regeneration Area [TRA] in Glasgow, to create a new neighborhood of over 1,000 homes, at a cost of £250m.

The megalith is seen as a symbol of the regeneration of this area. Adnan Soojeri gave an enthusiastic vote of thanks for a very interesting and informative talk.
