Seagate Rotary had a half yearly business meeting on Monday. President Andy Slater reported on the club’s activities since July, including Marymass, Poppy Scotland and the Christmas trees at the Portal, and also a number of social and community support events.
It was noted that in the last year Seagate donated £5,000 to a total of 14 different charities and causes, local, national and international. The recent Xmas trees display at the Portal raised over £1,000 for the designated local charities.
Next month, Seagate will have a social Burns Night on 11 February, and the fund raising Sportsmen’s Dinner on 22 February. In March there will be a weekend away to Dunbar. Finally, in the monthly charity raffle, the lucky winner of a bottle of Malt was Ian Dickson. The bottle was appropriated as a prize at the Sportsmen’s Dinner.
