A local heat of Rotary’s National Young Chef Competition was held at Pipers Corner School. The event attracted nine entrants from four local schools. The Misbourne, Chesham Grammar, Dr Challoner’s Grammar School and Pipers Corner. For the local heat, the contestants were required to prepare and cook a healthy two course meal for two people at a total cost not exceeding £20.
Adam Whitlock, Chef / Director of Gilbey’s Restaurant, Old Amersham acted as judge. The overall standard was excellent and the scores close. The top three contestants were Camille Thornton-Izzard ( Misbourne), Callum Boyagoda (Chesham Grammar) and Óscar Midgely-Masters (Dr Challoners). All three will be invited to enter into the District Final where the task will be the preparation of a three course meal for two.
The local heat was sponsored by Rotary in Amersham, Chesham and Great Missenden.
