Prestwick Rotarian Adnan Soojeri gave a very personal talk to Prestwick Rotarians on his family background and how he came to settle in Prestwick. In 1981 Adnan came to Scotland to study aeronautical engineering at Scone in Perthshire. He graduated and then went to rejoin his parents and family who had moved from Iran to Kuwait.
However because of the very bad political situation in Kuwait he
returned the UK to work as an aeronautical engineer, before finally
settling in Prestwick running his aircraft servicing
business based at Prestwick Airport.
The company works solely on light
aircraft, below 5,700 kg in weight, and most customers are weekend
flyers. Adnan is a committed Prestwick Rotarian who, despite working
seven days a week, still finds a lot of time and
energy to support the activities of the local community through Rotary.
He is a well-liked, hard-working and popular Prestwick Rotary Club
member.
Nigel Lawrie gave a hearty vote of thanks for a very interesting and informative talk.
