Christmas is an important time for everyone and as always the Isle of Man Foodbank is doing everything possible to supply food and household accessories to those in desperate need at this special time of year.
The Southern Hub of the Foodbank found that they were seriously short of shelf space to store supplies so the Rotary Club of Rushen & Western Mann stepped in funding some new shelving with two Rotarians, Ashton Lewis and Brian Coole volunteering their time to erect the shelving in time for the Christmas period.
Judy Matthews, one of the Foodbank Team Co-ordinators said "on behalf of the team at the Southern Hub of the IOM Foodbank, we thank the Rotary Club of Rushen & Western Mann for their generous support in providing us with some great very functional shelving, it will do a grand job and serve us well for the future. We are very fortunate to have such a good liaison with Rotary and it will make our job of distributing food parcels in the south, currently to 14 families, much less onerous".
back Every year through the Rotary Club of Rushen & Western Mann Charitable Trust, the Club makes donations to a number of international, UK and local good causes following fundraising activities which take place throughout the Year.
