Llandudno Rotary – and the whole town – is in mourning for Bryan Davies, its longest-serving member - he joined the Club in 1966. Far and away the Club’s most famous member. Bryan died earlier this week after a short illness, aged 85.

Bryan – well known in the town and beyond as founder and proprietor of the form of estate agents that bears his name, had held almost every office in the Club, being President in 1978/79 and was awarded the prestigious Paul Harris Fellowship in 2002 in recognition of his service to the Rotary movement,

Bryan’s interests extended well beyond Rotary. He is a past Captain, Chairman and then President and Life Member of Maesdu Golf Club, a mainstay of the Victoria Club in Craig –y –Don and was heavily involved in the Great Orme Masonic Lodge. Born in Llanrhos and schooled at Craig y Don Primary and then Rydal, Bryan lived all his life in Llandudno, save for two years of National Service and for seven years in Canada in his twenties

Bryan’s golf was a great passion and he represented Wales in Rotary International Golfing Championships numerous times, including being Captain for Wales.

Bryan leaves a widow, Dorothy and two sons Sean and Tim; Paul, the eldest son, died some years ago

Bryan’s cheery greeting, genial disposition and generous spirit will live on in the memories of so many of us. RIP Bryan
