Cathy Jamieson - 03/12/18

Last Friday and Saturday Seagate Rotarians erected 26 Christmas trees in the Portal, and they were decorated by their sponsors and local children’s and community groups ready for the grand switch on on Sunday.  Money raised from the sponsorship and donations is to go to Irvine Cancer Care and Irvine Young Carers.

Seagate’s speaker on Monday was Cathy Jamieson, former MSP and MP, and currently a Director of Kilmarnock FC.  Cathy gave a hugely entertaining and informative talk on her career in politics and her love of football.  Even those totally ignorant of football and generally suspicious of politicians were totally engaged with the way Cathy presented her experiences and anecdotes. 

There were questions, and comments on the electricity meter to the floodlights at Kilmarnock, and a Vote of Thanks was proposed by Sandy Niven.
