Prestwick Rotary was delighted to welcome a prestigious group from the Sikh Council of Scotland at their latest meeting. Led by their President  Sulakhan Singh Samra, the Council gave an overview of their fantastic charitable work in India with communities experiencing extreme poverty.

We heard how the Sikh Council of Scotland supports multiple Eye Camps restoring vision to individuals blinded with cataracts. Also of the educational support they provide with around 300 children able to attend school as a result. They also provide vocational training to young women enabling them to develop new skills through which they can earn a living.

During his presentation, Council member Gurdip Singh highlighted how their work is inspired and guided by their Sikh faith and values for humanity.

Thanks to Rotarians Ajit and Diesh for arranging such an enlightening and informative evening.
