A big thank needs to go out to the massively generous Guernsey public for supporting the Rotary Club of Guernsey with their Flag Day today.
Under the direction of Chris Marquis, the Rotary Club had approximately 15 sites throughout the Island manned all day.
The proceeds of the Flag Day are all used to provide Christmas parcels to mainly the elderly but also needy families for Christmas.
The Rotarian who is organising the Christmas Parcels, Paul Watts, commented that he was amazed at the generosity of the Guernsey public to turn out and support Rotary despite the weather.
Community Services Chair Andy Salisbury added that it was an excellent result and it proved that the Guernsey public are amongst the most generous in the world.
