Monday was Irvine Seagate Rotary’s monthly business meeting. It was noted that the Christmas trees are all organised for the Portal, and each tree will be decorated by its sponsors on Friday and Saturday this week. The trees will be officially switched on by Provost Clarkson at 4.30 on Sunday 2 December.
Seagate will again be supporting the local Barnardos and North Ayrshire appeal for toys and christmas presents for disadvantaged children in the area. In December, there will be a joint Christmas dinner with the Probus club, and a weekend away is proposed in March, to sunny Dunbar. Finally the monthly charity raffle, a festive bottle of bubbly, was won by Jim Fairgrieve.
