Dr Yvonne Edwards of the Chess Valley Archeological and Historical Society gave a talk about a recent excavation in Great Missenden.
Our speaker on the 16th November 2018 was Dr Yvonne Edwards of the Chess Valley Archeological and Historical Society. A most interesting talk about a recent excavation of the site of a defended house in a wood in Great Missenden owned by a member of our Club. (You don’t need to own a wood to join Rotary).
Pots excavated were on display that dated from around 1200 and the Club was interested to hear about a far older wall or structure that has been discovered. The Society are seeking permission to complete another set of trenches to further investigate the site.
