Monthly Business Meeting - 24/09/18

Weekly Press Report

Monday was a business meeting at Seagate Rotary, when activities for the next few months were discussed.  At Christmas, Seagate are organising a display of Christmas Trees at the Portal and the Townshouse.  It is hoped that local businesses will each sponsor a tree for £100, and the tree can be decorated by the business or by a local youth group, school or charity.

In addition to brightening up the town centre at Christmas, all funds raised will go to Irvine & Troon Cancer Care and North Ayrshire Young Carers.  Rotarians will be approaching local companies in the next month, and the contact is Ian Dickson on 276168.  In November, Seagate will be organising the local remembrance poppy collection at Tesco and Sainsbury on behalf of Poppy Scotland.  For light relief, the club’s Safari Supper will be in October, when members and friends will be taken to dinner, without knowing whose house they will be at for each course or for the final party.

Next week many members will be at the Wee Pies on Monday evening, and others will be visiting Rotary Clubs throughout Ayrshire
