Stone Circle Designer talks to Prestwick Rotary Club

In 1979 Duncan Lunan designed and project-managed the first astronomically aligned stone circle in Scotland for 3,000 years. The site was Sighthill Park in Glasgow, and it was hoped that the circle would be a tourist attraction, which would help regenerate the area. For a number of reasons this did not happen. The site was reshaped in 2013, and the structure removed in 2016. However a re-sighting of this megalith is imminent on Glasgow Meadows. This is great news and this edifice will be a welcome exciting addition to the Glasgow landscape.

Duncan is a prolific writer on astronomical matters, and his output can be visited on www.duncanlunan.com. His talk was extremely interesting, generating lots of questions. Rotarian Ajit Singh Uppal gave a well-deserved vote of thanks.
