Happy Birthday Prestwick Rotary Club

Prestwick Rotary Club is 70 years old. The club was chartered in 1948, with the mother club The Rotary Club of Ayr and the daughter club The Rotary Club of Troon.  Prestwick Rotary Club has a long and distinguished history, but it is not steeped in the past, and continues to change and adapt in an ever rapidly-changing world. Prestwick Rotarians are proud of what they have achieved over many years for the local community, and strive to continue their good work for many years to come.

An informal celebratory evening was held on the actual birthdate of 27 September at The Parkstone Hotel in Prestwick. This was well-attended with entertainment provided by 6 musicians, aptly named two plus two plus two. Guest Cherlene Cooper in the picture won a raffle prize generously provided by the family of Gurdish Singh Uppal. A more formal celebration will be in the form of a 70th Birthday Annual Dinner to be held, again at The Parkstone Hotel, on 2 November 2018. Rotary is welcoming and fun and more local people should take advantage of an enjoyable Thursday night out, especially over the long winter nights. New members are always welcome.

The very popular annual carol concert will be held as usual in St Nicolas Church in Prestwick. Gifted schoolchildren from a variety of Ayrshire Schools will be performing a wide range of music from jazz to classics, and Christmas carols. The date to note in your diaries is 14 December 2018, commencing at 7.00 pm. Notices will be posted around the town as an additional reminder, nearer the date.
