Great talk last week on seaweed ! 

 The speaker was Dr Steven Hay from Du Pont Nutrition and Health, Ladyburn Works, Girvan. The works is better known as The Alginate Factory and Steve has been involved with alginate production for 28 years there so is a world expert on the subject.

 The talk took us around the world from Australia to Norway and Iceland for seaweed harvesting and processing. Alginates are used extensively in hundreds of products to include face creams, paints, fibres, and medications such as gaviscon. After a lively question session,
