2017 Rotary Christmas Concert

The 2017 Rotary Christmas concert held in St Nicholas Parish Church was a great success. Musical pupils from Prestwick Academy under the expert guidance of Mrs Dipple were great, from wind band to string orchestra, to choirs and solo singers. A collection for charity delivered over £750, and this will all go to local good causes. Well done to all pupils, and thankyou to a generous audience. Prestwick Rotarian Matt Train organised the whole event with great skill.

Brogan Tierney of Prestwick Academy will be visiting The European Parliament in Strasbourg in February 2018, courtesy of The Rotary club of Prestwick. Brogan has won a Euroscola award and will be joining a group of similar youngsters from the West of Scotland for an exciting and informative four days.

Euroscola improves language skills, builds confidence and widens political knowledge of Europe. These benefits are particularly pertinent as we go through Brexit process. Brogan is very interested in languages and is studying higher french, but her overall ambition is to become a doctor. Prestwick Rotarians look forward to a presentation from Brogan on her Strasbourg adventure.
