Prestwick Rotary Club Welcomes Local Speakers

The initiative of welcoming volunteer speakers to the club is proving to be a great success, with a very good response so far. If you have a hobby, topic or cause we should know about please get in touch. The club meets every Thursday evening at The Parkstone Hotel in Prestwick, and guest speakers are invited to  a meal and to give a 20 min talk on a their pet subject.

So far we have had interesting talks on airport security and on the arts in Ayrshire. Also, a recent tribute to Robert Burns consisted of a number of poems in 'Burns Style' from local poet Fiona McFadzean. Any subject is up for grabs, so contact President Richie Cameron on richiecameron2@sky.com, or telephone Mike Kelly on 01563 830147.

The photo shows Richie Cameron presenting a staff gratuity cheque to Carol Lockheart on behalf of The Rotary Club of Prestwick. The Club has been meeting on Thursday evenings at The Parkstone Hotel for many years, and Rotarians are very grateful to have such an excellent venue for their weekly get-together. Parkstone Hotel management and staff are very supportive of Rotary, and their hard work is much appreciated by Rotarians.

Prestwick Rotary Club members are looking forward to an eventful year ahead, with planning already going ahead for the annual Am-Am golf tournament on the links at Prestwick. A beach clean is planned for Saturday 7 April 2018, so please make an early note in your diary to meet at 9.30 am at Kids Play, if you want to help in tidying up Prestwick beach.
