Kids Out 2018

Our club has organised the annual Kids Out event for over 25 years. This year it  was once again held at Whipsnade Zoo on Wednesday 13th June.

As the Rotary district has expanded, 59 clubs were involved this year bringing with them over 750 children plus their carers from various organisations and special schools. Each Club sponsors their school financially and provides them with a Tee shirt and cap.

The day started at 10.00am when the zoo opened and a steady procession moved into the zoo. As part of the day the zoo provides the use of the train.  Also included in the sponsored price that each club pays for a child, is a packed lunch, which has been prepared by the ladies of Inner Wheel for which we are always grateful.

The children are free to roam the zoo wherever they choose and the zoo organises special events throughout the day, the most popular being the sealions. The event finishes for the children to return in time for the end of school.
