A great big thankyou from Prestwick Rotary Club for the 2018 Beach clean.
The big beach clean carried out on Saturday morning 7 April was
a great success. In a co-ordinated effort with other Rotary clubs a significant
length of Ayrshire coastline was cleared of litter.
This litter is mainly plastic bottles, rope, bags and packaging, and we are all becoming increasingly aware of the harm that plastics cause to marine life. Over 160 volunteers turned up and picked up over 150 bags of rubbish.
Thankyou to all local groups and individuals who participated, and it was encouraging to see lots of youngsters involved. See you all again about the same time of year.
