On Saturday Seagate Rotary said goodbye to their French guests after a busy week of trips and visits in fantastic weather. Apparently it was raining all week in Orleans so they were reluctant to go home.
On Monday Seagate had two speakers at their weekly meeting. Iain White gave a brief introduction to the recently developed Clyde Coastal Path. The path has been developed by local Rotarians and runs from Wemyss Bay to Milngavie, linking the Ayrshire Coastal Path, also developed by Rotarians, to the West Highland Way.
Retired Squadron Leader Robert Sommerville gave an illustrated talk on his 32 years in the RAF, mainly flying and instructing in helicopters. Robert, who was at Loudoun Montgomery and Irvine Royal, included many stories and anecdotes of incidents and people. After questions, a Vote of Thanks was proposed by Allan Morrison.
This Saturday, 16 June, Seagate Rotary will be running a bottle stall in Eglinton Park on behalf of the SANDS Gala Day and duck race. SANDS is the Stillborn and Neonatal Death support charity.
