In May 2018, the Rotary Club of Leighton Linslade President Dick Johnson presented Rotarian Dave Edwards with a Sapphire pin to go with his Paul Harris Fellowship award.
Dave initially became a Paul Harris Fellow in September 2000 for his service to Rotary, as he had been the main lead for several years of the committee responsible for organising the May Day Fayre, along with general service to the Rotary movement, with the motto of Service Above Self being his main motivator.
Through his continued leadership the May Fayre has become the largest outside event in Central Bedfordshire and is a major fund raiser within the Club and also for a number of local charities.
Dave is always available to help at any Rotary event prompting the extra award to his PHF award. With this award, Dave has become the first member of Leighton Linslade Club to be granted this prestigious award.
