The Seagate Rotary Sportsmen’s Dinner on Saturday was very popular and successful, raising over £3,000 for the charity account. Many thanks are due to all of the local businesses and individuals who supported the event with sponsorship, prizes and in other ways. The dinner was organised by Alex McConnell. Next year’s dinner will be on Friday 1 March.
Monday was a Rotary business night. At the start of the evening a donation was made to representatives from Irvine Care and Share. Jim Anderson noted that the annual Rotary Primary Schools Quiz will be held in the Fullarton Hub on Friday 23 March. In the monthly charity raffle, President Eric Greig was pleased to go home with a very acceptable bottle of malt. The last time he won the bottle was appropriated as a prize for the Sportsmen’s Dinner.
Next week Seagate will be addressed by the head students from the Irvine Royal Academy.
