Annual Burns Evening
Monday was Seagate Rotary’s annual “Nicht wi’ Burns”, a Burns themed evening with dinner and guests, billed as a gentle end to the season of serious suppers.
The Haggis was piped in by Jim Butler, and dispatched by George Watson. Iain Doole gave an erudite and entertaining address to the Lasses, which was mercilessly disected by his daughters, Aimee and Louisa working in tandem to give the response.
George Watson presented one of his unique adaptations of the Burns saga, Tam o’ Shanter, in modern guise and Jim Butler gave a classic recitation. The pleasant and relaxed evening was chaired by President Eric Greig, and organised by Pam Lodge and David Cousar.
