Eden Swim School at the Swimathon organised by the Rotary Club of Penrith
50 members of Eden Swim School enjoyed taking part in a Swimathon which Penrith Rotary Club organise every year for teams to see how many lengths they can swim in a 50 mins relay. The seven swim school teams totalled 555 lengths between them, a good result especially as the youngest team was made up entirely of 6 year olds. This was the fifth year that the swim school has entered the event over those years it has raised more than £2,000 for a range of children’s charities. This year they are raising money for CLIC Sargent, the children’s cancer charity.
Penrith Rotary Club hold this event on two Saturdays in January/February each year and it is a great opportunity for clubs, schools, adult groups, or friends to have fun swimming and never loose a race! As well as the children’s teams entered by Eden Swim School they also entered three adult teams ranging in age from 30 to 71 years of age, who between them swam 371 lengths!
