International Quiz and Fish 'n Chips supper
The annual international quiz and fish 'n chips supper was held at Emmanuel United Reformed Church, West Wickham on Saturday evening 7th March, when ten teams hotly contested the outcome.
Our congratulations to Ian Morgan's team, which won by just two points, with 83 out of a possible 110. This was a fun evening with delicious local fish and chips and prizes for the quiz winners.
Our thanks go to Rev. Bill Bowman for providing the venue and for acting as our quizmaster.
This year the proceeds from the quiz and the raffle will be donated to the Bizweni Centre for Disabled Children, near Capetown in South Africa. Together with the Rotary clubs of St Marylebone and Helderberg, we are raising funds to equip the new extended day centre for the children.
We are delighted to say that, together with the matching District grant from Rotary Foundation, over £1,400 has been raised for this project, which will be used for furnishings and equipment at the centre.
