YOUR HELP PLEASE!
We ' Rotary' have been asked to help with the following:
The charity Kidsout have struck up a partnership with the Midshires Group who specialise in mobility equipment, and they are launching what they describe as a Powered Wheelchair Crusade
Midshires work on behalf of a number of golf club’s / organisations throughout England and Wales that each year raise funds through various methods to help fund children in need of a powered wheelchair
That involvement with the clubs also includes us seeking out the children to put forward that would benefit from the gift of a FREE powerchair
Criteria:
The recipient and family must attend the presentation at the clubs event
Product must be a powered wheelchair – (or a manual chair with power assist)
Recipients are up to the age of 16 years old
To be postcode specific
Nominations to be received by no later 31 December 2017
There is no contribution required from the family – each contribution is circa £3000 and if the chair required is in excess of that, Midshires are able to help in seeking out any top-up or additional amount required
Our first event for 2018 that we are currently preparing recipients for is in April – (date to be confirmed at this point) This event will present 2 new chairs and the postcodes that the children live in can be; WA – CH – CW – L – LL – SY. It is hoped to extend this 'crusade' to other postcodes in the near future.
At this stage all that I require are the name and address. Contact details of the child and parents, and a brief description of the medical condition. Once a nomination has been received Midshires will contact the parents to carry out a full assessment.
I would be very grateful therefore if you could help in identifying and facilitate nominations from within the postcode areas in your District.
There are no cost implications for Rotary, we are being asked to 'Help make a Difference'.
Please do not hesitate to contact me should you have any questions on this matter.
Best regards,
Steve Cartwright
