Llandudno Rotary Service Recognition Award – do you have a nominee?
Every year since the turn of the century, the Rotary Club of Llandudno has made an annual presentation to a person or group who has clearly made a contribution to the social fabric of the town by working tirelessly to address some social need. Since 2008 the winner has also received the Idris Griffiths Memorial Cup, which honours the memory of a much loved Rotarian and member of the Llandudno community
In recent years the award has gone to Llandudno Lions Past President Sandie Halliday for a meals-on-wheels service, the Revd. Tim Hall for working with the youth of the town and also, earlier this year, to Gerrie Bayley for more than a decade of unstinting work founding and running Chernobyl Childrens Lifeline, North Wales Coast Link, which arranges much-needed respite holidays for sickly children.
Already the Rotary Club is planning for the 2018 Award, which will be presented at a Rotary Charter Night in March 2018. If you know of any deserving individual or group who are quietly doing good in the town and who is/are worthy of some form of recognition, do get in touch with Rotarian Philip Jones, rotaryllandudno@gmail.com - in confidence, and without the knowledge of the nominee, please.
