Rotary Foundation Centenary Celebration

On 9th September 2017, a party of over 100 Rotarians with wives and partners enjoyed a champagne tea to mark the occasion.

The setting was the magnificent Victorian country house, "The Salomons Estate", in Broomhill, near Tunbridge Wells.

Rotarians Chris Barnett and Christine Wilkinson adressed us and then a splendid, generous tea with cream and jam scones, sandwiches and cakes was served and thoroughly enjoyed by everyone.

Musical entertainment was provided by the talented duo "Our Way", with excellent renditions of the music of Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin and Sammy Davis Jnr.

Anne Wafula Strike MBE, gave an inspirational talk about the difficulties she had to overcome in her quest to compete in the paralympics and her philosophy of being enabled, as opposed to disabled.

A collection for a Shelterbox to be sent to victims of the hurricane Irma, raised £600.00.
