Luton Rotary Club inducted Associate member Adedapo Owalabi, {Dapo}, on Thursday 24th August the second new member to join in this rotary year. Dapo originates from Nigeria where his father was a member of the Rotary Club of Ado ekiti. His father, who was an accountant and mother an International textile dealer, sent Dapo to grammar School before University where he gained a batchelor of Arts degree in Philosophy. He did his National service in 1990/91 and became a Field officer for the Directorate of food. He later joined The Ministry of Justice before the Nigerian economy suffered a drastic turndown and together with his wife and three children they emigrated to England.
He sought initial work with a Water Meter testing Company in Luton, joined Stortext Document Solutions and is the producer of Divine Inspirations Productions. He also volunteers as "bank staff" at both Signposts, Luton and The YMCA. He is currently working towards the Prince 2 certificate in Project management. Dapo has visited the club on several occasions and we welcome him to membership and look forward to his "My Job Talk" in due course.
