Llandudno Rotary – making a difference

Tuesday 4^th July saw President Mike Clutton hand over the reins to incoming President John New. Llandudno Rotary Club has always planned well in advance has already decided that in July 2018 John will, in his turn, hand over to Rosalind Hopewell, with Mike Dean taking over from Rosalind as President in July 2019.

Two welcome guests at the Club were Gordon McGlone and Fred Leighton of Wirksworth Rotary Club. Gordon was visiting the town as he is the organiser of their district conference which is being held in Llandudno from 29 Sept-1 Oct.

 Wirksworth Rotary Club created the concept of Aquabox disaster relief boxes in 1992 and to date, Rotary Clubs throughout the UK have sent more than 100,000 boxes to over 50 countries. Llandudno has played its part in this in the past and expects to send more this year.

After the brief formalities, some light relief was given by Reubens Sydall, a remarkable magician whose polished performance belies his youth.
