“Chelwood Bridge Rotary is one of the foremost Rotary fund raising and social clubs in this area and, after 12 years as a Rotarian, I am look forward to my year as President. We have already held several fund-raising events this year including Jim Farmer’s Golf Day which raised finds for Penny Brohn Cancer Support.
My chosen charity this year is Cancer Relief for which we will be holding several events including a Musical Gala, a Virtual Party Night and a Golf Day in 2018.
We will continue to act as stewards and help at events held by other local organisations as well raising funds for our international relief charity, Water Survival Box.
In the coming months, we will be helping at the Bath Dragon Race, in aid of Wizzybugs, on September 10th and on October 6th we will be running a Quiz Night in Stanton Drew Village Hall.
We have a great web site which gives details of all our activities and events. We meet at the Carpenter’s Arms in Stanton Wick every Tuesday evening and our Club Membership is open to all. We look forward to welcoming new members.” President Vic Clarke
Before handing over to Vic, Jim, as outgoing President had an award to make.
One of our founder members John Poling was awarded a Rotary Jacket.
John is very famous for his odes. Vic wrote an ode for the occasion.
