Dictionaries for Life presentations

Over 400 dictionaries were presented to pupils at 7 local schools in June and July.

For over 10 years Burnham Beeches Rotary has been supporting the Rotary GB&I national literacy programme with their Dictionary For Life project. Education is a priority for Rotary and the project enables pupils in local schools to be given dictionaries which they can keep for life.

This year the Club donated over 400 dictionaries to schools in Burnham, Farnham Common, Farnham Royal, Slough and Taplow. Rotarians presented the dictionaries at assemblies at each of the schools during September

The cost of the books was funded by the Club together with Rotary District Grant and a donation from Farnham Common Community Library.

Our Community Activities

back We work in and around the Community in many ways - to help others with their projects and fund raising - some are featured here. We were recently presented with an Award from the Beeches Community Board in recognition of our work in the community.
