A fantastic weekend of weather definitely helped this year's event to be as popular as ever.
Friday evening picked up quickly and everyone was able to sit or stand outside to enjoy the music and quench their thurst with the comprehensive range of real ales and ciders on offer.
Saturday afternoon bands enjoyed appreciative audiences.
Quality cream teas were on offer to support Rotary's KIdsOut charity which helps disadvantaged and disabled children enjoy an annual trip to a fun venue - Wicksteed Park.
Hon Rotarian, auctioneer David Palmer, was on hand to run the auction for the Pos+ability charity. He did a terrific job and managed to auction off the great selection of donated prizes for over £840.
The Saturday evening performances on stage were hughely supported by the audience who watched, danced and sang along. The number of picnics this year on the Rec definitely increased, with The Scouts burgers and hot dogs in high demand, along with the popular ice cream van. The stock of beers and ciders dwindled rapidly as the evening progressed, but better that than be stuck with a lot of stock remaining.
Initial numbers are looking excellent with over £6500 going to East Angian Air Ambulance, over £750 to local Rotary charities.
Overall over £8000 raised, not including what the Scouts made from their stall.
What a fun way to raise funds for such deserving causes - well done everyone.
