Visit to HMS Duncan (Type 45 Destroyer)
on its stay at Portland
Saturday evening saw fifteen members of the club, along with other dignatories from Weymouth & Portland visit HMS Duncan
Commissioned on 26 September 2013 and maiden deployment to the Mediterranean and the Middle East on 2 March 2015
She visited Portland and we were invited to a Reception and Capability Demonstration.
A formidable vessel and a crew that are enthusiastic, patriotic and work together as an amazing team.
We were shown the flight deck and helicopter, the bridge, the control room and demostration of abilities of the craft and anti missile system, plus fire demonstation and medical facilities .
The crew were incredibly welcoming and made it an evening to remember.
The Royal Navy we are so proud of.
