Climbing the O2 Dome

Woolsack Whippetts went over the Dome

Three Club members - Jane, Andy and Ian C, plus supporter Paul, took on the challenge of climbing to the top of the O2 dome in London. This event was due to take place on Rotary Day in February but because of interference from storm Doris, was delayed until May.

In our climb we were joined by three Rotarians from the Walsall RC and together, suitably kitted out in obligatory safety gear and boots, we climbed or rather bounced on the rubber walkway, up the steep sides of the Dome to the magnificant viewing platform at the top.

The climb was organised by Rotary GB&I to raise awareness of Rotary and raise funds for the Rotary Foundation and the Roll Out The Barrel Project. This is also one of many events this year celebrating the centenary of this magnificent charity.

The financial support of friends and family is much appreciated by the team, led by Jane Stedman and including Andy Jeffery, Ian Coult and supporter Paul Redmond. We were aiming to raise £1000 and have actually raised almost £2,500 with Gift Aid. So thank you everyone for your generosity.

Fundraising

back We like to provide some financial support to charities and other good causes in their work, so we have a programme of fundraising each year for this purpose.
