Monday was the Seagate Rotary Annual General Meeting. Committee conveners summarised their activities over the past year, and officials for next year were elected. President, from July, will be Dan Moriarty, with deputy Eric Greig and with secretary and treasurer Andy Slater and Billy Dickson remaining in post.
Conveners will be John Brown, Fiona Lee, Ian Dickson, Raymond Jamieson and Pamela Lodge. The club has been very active with both fundraising and supporting local and other charities and individuals, and also socially with activities ranging from hill walking to party nights and a day at the races.
The next fellowship activity will be the 25th anniversary barbecue at Marress on 2 June. In the monthly charity raffle, Pam Lodge went away with a bottle of blue gin. There will be no meeting on holiday Monday next week, but it will be back to normal on 8 May with a presentation on stained glass by Susan Luckie.
