Both Chelwood Bridge Rotary Club and Mendip Male Voice Choir are supporters of Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW) which provides care for children who have life-limiting conditions and are not expected to live into adulthood, whilst also supporting their whole family. CHSW provides care and support from the point of diagnosis through to bereavement and beyond.
Vic Clarke, the President of Chelwood Bridge Rotary Club is seen here presenting a cheque for £901 to Jane Bowden, a CHSW volunteer.
Vic said: “Together with Keynsham Rotary Club our club helped organise a Christmas Charity Concert at St Johns Church in Keynsham. We are delighted to donate our share of the proceeds to CHSW which provides a magnificent service in three children’s hospices in the South West, including one in Wraxall, North Somerset. I had the pleasure of being a member of Mendip Male Voice Concert which sang at the concert. Among the songs in our repertoire is a beautiful song called “Shining” which was composed specifically for and donated to the CHSW. Anyone wishing to hear this song should come along to the MMVC Concert in Camerton Village Hall on March 26th. I would also encourage everyone to go along to one of the open days which CHSW regular holds at their hospices where they will be able to witness CHSW’s work and facilities first hand.”
