The Seagate Rotary Sportsmen’s Dinner on Friday was well attended, and guests were well entertained by speakers footballer Willie Henderson and referee Brian McGinlay. A total of nearly £4000 was raised for the club’s charity account, and the main beneficiaries will be the Ayrshire Hospice and Macmillan Nurses. Thanks are due to the many local companies and individuals who contributed to the evening’s success.
Monday was a club business night. It was noted that so far seven schools have entered for the annual Primary Schools Quiz which will be on Friday 24 March. For fundraising, a race night and a bottle stall are being proposed in the next few weeks. Socially, more walks will be organised as the weather improves, and also an underground tour of Central Station and a visit to Ayr Races.
