Club Night - 28/11/16

Weekly Press Report

Prior to Monday’s meeting, President Jim Fairgrieve of Seagate Rotary presented a cheque to Mhairi McFadyen.  Mhairi is a local youth worker who has been accepted to go on an 11 month, 11 country volunteering mission to some of the poorest countries in Africa, Asia and Central America.  She leaves on 6 January and has had to raise substantial funds to cover her expenses.

Monday was a club business night.  Arrangements for the annual Christmas hamper distribution are in hand and they will be delivered on 17 December.  From Monday, 5 December, Seagate Rotary is providing a Tree of Remembrance at the entrance to the Hallmark Hotel, to raise funds for McMillan Cancer Nurses.  For a donation, people are encouraged to fix a yellow ribbon to the tree to remember loved ones, departed or far away.  In January the collected ribbons will be taken for a blessing in the Old Parish Church.
