A number of Seagate Rotary members and partners had a
cultural day in Glasgow on Saturday, taking in the relatively recent Lighthouse
and Gallery of Modern Art, along with diversions to some of the city’s longer
established refreshment centres.
Monday
was a club business night. The club has
an active social programme for the rest of the year, and a number of charitable
donations and fundraising events were discussed. It was noted that a coffee afternoon on
Sunday, organised and hosted by Claire Drennan with support from Seagate
Rotary, had raised over £1100 for McMillan Cancer Care, and thanks are due to
all who took part or made donations.
Finally, in the monthly charity raffle, Donald Menzies won a nice bottle
of brandy which was immediately appropriated for pride of place in the bottle
stall arranged for October.
