Skating Marathon - Aug 2016

Congratulations to Beckenham Rotarian, Peter Braithwaite 

We are very pleased to report that Peter completed his skating marathon at Goodwood Motor Circuit on Sunday 21st August 2016 .

There were strong headwinds on the long uphill half mile of the circuit which meant a (relatively) slow time of 2hrs 26mins but, thanks to the support of two of Peter's skating chums who lead the pace line, the time was better than expected.

Peter was skating to raise money for End Polio Now and has now collected nearly £2,000.

President Charles presents a cheque for £2,000.00 to District Governor Peter West at our club lunch on 29th September 2016. This donation to Rotary Foundation is for the End Polio Now campaign and was raised by Peter Braithwaite at the Goodwoodc skating marathon.

After a Rotary lunch in April 2017, ADG Brenda Parsons presented a certificate to President Charles and Foundation Chair Ian, to mark Peter's achievement.
