We are delighted to host Mounika Parimi, from Redlands, California, as our Rotary Global Scholar 2016 - 2017.

Mounika has solid academic achievements, and has been studying as a Fulbright Scholar at Dresden University, Germany, researching diabetes. She intends to return to the USA to study Medicine in order to become a medical Doctor, in order to serve as a physician in underserved areas globally.

Mounika is sponsored by four Rotary Clubs in California, who contributed directly $7,500, and District 5330 [representing the "Inland Empire of Southern California"] contributed $16,189.

Rotary Foundation World Fund contributed $6,311.

"The Global Grant is focused on assisting Mounika in developing the knowledge necessary that will assist her in her ultimate practice of medicine in developing parts of the world. The London Center for Tropical Disease will expose Mounika to practices and policies that influence health care provision in the developing world."

Our District is hosting 9 Global Scholars this year - from USA; Italy; Australia; and Japan.

Such Rotary Foundation funding is open to all. It is similarly utilised to promote the abilities of outstanding UK candidates abroad, and is very often a major step in the enhancement of the candidate's knowledge, capabilities, understanding and experiences. It can be a life changer.
