On Monday evening President Adam Moonie of Seagate Rotary presented cheques to representatives of the Girl Guides North Ayrshire European Trip and the Kenshin Shakoai Karate Club.
Monday was a club business night and various future events were noted and discussed. The club will be organising its usual charity Hot Dog stall in Kilwinning Road on Marymass Saturday, 20 August. In addition to social events and summer walks, advance notice was given for the annual Sportsmen’s Dinner, the club’s main fundraiser. This will be at Marress on Friday 24 February, and the main speaker will be former referee Brian McKinley.
2017 will be the club’s 25th anniversary, and events are planned to celebrate this milestone. Towards the end of the meeting there was some distraction from a mobile phone, and tension as Iceland supporters waited for the final whistle, but all went well for them in the end.
