There was no Seagate Rotary meeting last week, as ten members and partners were away on a week’s visit to Seagate’s twin club in Orleans. They reported back this week. The visit included vineyard tours and tastings, and the lavishness of French hospitality was apparent in that some slim fit shirts this week were straining at their buttons in an imitation of Beatrix Potter’s Tom Kitten.
There will be a walk down the beach to Troon and back on Saturday for those wanting to work off some of the excess. Members who were not in France made social visits to other Rotary clubs in the district.
The team from Glebe Primary, who won the Irvine heat of the Rotary Primary Schools Quiz, will be going to Glasgow on Monday to take part in the West of Scotland finals.
On Sunday 19 June, Seagate will again be running a bottle stall in support of the SANDS gala day and duck race in Eglinton Park. SANDS is the Stillbirth and Neonatal Death support charity.
