The Rotary Club of Birstall Luddites KIDS OUT Wed 8th June 2016 |
Every June, the Rotary Organisation throughout Britain and Ireland
together with KidsOut take over 25,000 disadvantaged children on a great
big day out. The children visit the seaside, theme parks, adventure
playgrounds & zoos giving them all wonderful memories to cherish for
a lifetime.
Birstall Luddites sponsored 28 disabled children from Fairfield School plus carers to a day out at Lightwater Valley Ripon. Once again Heckmondwike Rotary club jointly funded the event and two Heckmondwike Rotarians Pupils attending were provided with transport to and from Lightwater Valley, entrance to the park, a tee shirt and hat, lunch and also an ice 28 Children from the school, together with their carer’s were picked up by coach from the school and transported to Lightwater Valley to enjoy the facilities and rides available in the park. For the second successive year a number of wheelchair users also attended and required the use of attending to support the event and all those involved had a thoroughly memorable day which was enhanced (once again) by good weather. |
