SCHOOLS FRENCH PUBLIC SPEAKING COMPETITION 2015

(JUNIOR AND INTERMEDIATE CLASSES)
For the junior event six students from Glyn and Rosebery Schools recited a piece of prose or poetry selected from a list provided by the judges. The standard was high, but Caroline Young from Rosebery swept the board with a spirited performance of the poem “Je déteste les poupées Barbie!” Toby wood recited “La pollution” to achieve runner up, and Scarlett Turner was highly commended for “Noël en France”.

Four students from Rosebery School contested the intermediate class, giving a talk about themselves and their lives, using titles suggested by the judges.  The judges had some difficulty choosing a winner but eventually Emma Depledge was awarded first prize. Emelie Cooke was runner up and both Samantha Perren and Catherine Bird were awarded highly commended certificates.

Prizes and certificates were presented by Andrew Ballard, President of Epsom Rotary Club.
